1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how the operators of Smart Wallet (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handle information in connection with:
- This marketing website for Smart Wallet; and
- The Smart Wallet Chrome browser extension (the “Extension”), a non-custodial multi-chain wallet.
By using the website or installing and using the Extension, you acknowledge this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or Extension.
Smart Wallet documentation is available on GitHub at github.com/whitebrick86-jpg/Smart-Wallet. The official Chrome Web Store listing is at chromewebstore.google.com (extension ID bdklcaihpngonhelffdfiijojghobknf). Updates and public notes may also appear on X (@SmartWallet_xyz).
2. Non-custodial nature
Smart Wallet is non-custodial. We do not take custody of your seed phrases, private keys, recovery words, or wallet passwords. Those secrets are generated and controlled by you. Encrypted wallet material for software wallets is designed to stay on your device; when you use hardware wallets such as Ledger, keys remain on the hardware.
Never email seed phrases, private keys, recovery words, screenshots of secrets, or wallet passwords to support or to anyone claiming to be Smart Wallet. Legitimate support will never ask for them. If you send them anyway, you put your funds at risk — we cannot safely “hold” or “recover” them for you.
3. Information we do not collect by design
By design, we do not operate as a custodian of:
- Seed phrases / recovery phrases;
- Private keys; or
- Wallet unlock passwords intended only for local use.
We do not claim that no technical data ever reaches infrastructure involved in running the product (for example RPC providers or our own workers). This section means we are not collecting those secrets as a custodian or account database.
4. Information that may be processed when you use Smart Wallet
4.1 Data stored locally on your device
The Extension may store data on your device, such as encrypted wallet material, preferences, address book or contact labels if you add them, and session or unlock state as implemented by the product. That material is under your control on your device (and subject to how your browser and OS manage extension storage). Clearing extension data or uninstalling removes local Extension storage according to Chrome’s behavior.
4.2 Blockchain and network data
When you look up balances, history, or broadcast transactions, the Extension sends requests you initiate — for example public addresses and signed transaction payloads — to third-party RPC or infrastructure providers so chain state can be read and transactions can be submitted. Those providers process the data needed to fulfill the request. Blockchain activity is typically public by nature of the networks you use.
4.3 Swap and bridge routing
In-wallet swap and bridge features may route quotes and transactions through third-party aggregators or providers (for example services such as Jupiter, LI.FI, or 0x as used by the product). Quote parameters, token pairs, amounts, and related transaction data may be shared with those services as needed to fulfill a swap or bridge you request. Protocol, network, or aggregator fees may apply as shown in-product.
4.4 Market and token discovery
Market prices, token lists, or discovery data may be fetched via backend workers or public market APIs (sometimes with caching). At the edge, IP-based rate limiting or similar protections may apply to reduce abuse and keep endpoints reliable.
4.5 Announcements and product messages
Product announcements or in-app messages may be fetched from our infrastructure (for example Cloudflare Workers and KV). Limited technical metadata (such as request metadata needed to deliver and protect those endpoints) may be processed for delivery, caching, and security.
4.6 Support communications
If you email [email protected], we process the content of your message, your email address, and any metadata the mail systems provide, so we can respond. Do not include secrets in support email.
4.7 Marketing website hosting and CDN logs
This marketing site may be hosted and delivered through standard hosting and CDN infrastructure (for example Cloudflare Pages). Those systems typically generate operational logs that can include IP address, user agent, requested URL, and related request metadata used for security, reliability, and abuse prevention. We do not claim specific first-party analytics products (such as Google Analytics) on this site unless separately disclosed; if a cookie banner or analytics product is added later, this policy should be updated.
5. Chrome Web Store / Google
The Extension is distributed through the Chrome Web Store. Google’s terms and privacy practices may apply to install, update, and related store activity. Review Google’s policies in addition to this one.
6. Third-party dApps and websites
When you connect Smart Wallet to a third-party website or dApp, that party receives information you authorize — commonly your wallet address and any permissions or signatures you approve. Those sites have their own privacy policies and terms. We do not control how they use data after you connect. Only connect to sites you trust, and review every request before approving.
7. How we use information
We use information described above to:
- Operate wallet features you request (reads, sends, swaps, bridges, connections);
- Secure and operate infrastructure (rate limits, abuse prevention, reliability);
- Respond to support requests;
- Improve reliability and fix issues; and
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms of Service.
8. Sharing
We may share information with:
- Service providers who process data to run the service (hosting, CDN, workers, RPC, swap/bridge aggregators, email delivery);
- Legal and safety recipients when required by law, valid legal process, or to protect users, the product, or others from harm or fraud; and
- Business transitions, if the operators of Smart Wallet transfer assets related to the product, subject to appropriate protections where required.
We do not sell personal information as a data broker. We do not sell your email address or support contents for advertising lists.
9. Retention
- Local Extension data remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the Extension (subject to browser behavior).
- Server / edge logs and similar operational data are retained only as needed for security, abuse prevention, and operations, then deleted or aggregated according to our practices and provider defaults.
- Support emails are retained as needed to handle your request and for reasonable follow-up, recordkeeping, or legal requirements.
10. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect systems we operate. No method of transmission or storage is perfect. You remain responsible for device security, using official distribution channels, and backing up your recovery phrase offline in a safe place. Compromised devices, phishing, or shared seeds can lead to irreversible loss of funds.
11. Children
Smart Wallet is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where that higher age applies). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
12. International / transfers
Infrastructure used for the website and product features may be global (for example Cloudflare and other providers). If you access Smart Wallet from outside the region where a particular server sits, information may be processed in other countries that may have different data-protection laws.
13. Your choices
- Uninstall the Extension or clear site/extension data in your browser;
- Limit or revoke site connection permissions in the wallet UI where available;
- Avoid connecting to untrusted dApps;
- Use hardware signing (for example Ledger) where supported; and
- Contact support for questions about this policy.
14. Rights depending on your location
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you (for example support email contents), subject to legal exceptions. We do not currently designate a formal Data Protection Officer on this page. To exercise available rights, email [email protected] and describe your request. We may need to verify that we can locate relevant records and that the request is from the right person.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the website or Extension after an update means you accept the revised policy, to the extent permitted by law. Material changes may also be called out via the site, in-product messaging, or public channels such as X when practical.
